Saline Implants vs. Silicone Implants for Breast Asymmetry

Many women have some degree of breast asymmetry. For most, the difference in breast size is hardly noticeable, and not a cause for concern. Unfortunately, other women have pronounced breast asymmetry. Breast augmentation can correct this problem, providing you with balanced, symmetrical breasts at the same time that they are enhanced.

Both silicone and saline breast implants can be successfully used to correct asymmetry during breast augmentation. The main difference between these two breast implant types is the fact that saline implants are adjustable after placement, whereas silicone implants come in pre-filled sizes that cannot be adjusted.

Some patients may prefer the precision that saline implants allow, since the amount of saline in each breast implant can be modified until the breasts are perfectly symmetrical. However, Dr. Kleto is experienced in getting excellent symmetrical results from silicone breast implants as well, using the wide range of sizes currently available. In the end, the right type of breast implant for you will depend more on other factors – such as the thickness of your breast tissue, and your cosmetic goals – than breast symmetry.
