BOTOX® Cosmetic is one of the most popular and effective wrinkle treatments currently available. Over 4.5 million BOTOX® injections are administered every year in the United States alone. Even so, many patients have concerns about the overall safety of BOTOX®, and what types of side effects can occur with its use.

Every medical treatment comes with the risk of potential complications; however, the side effects associated with BOTOX® are minor and very rare. Some of these side effects include:

  • Pain
  • Headache
  • Bruising
  • Infection

Less than 1% of all BOTOX® patients experience a temporary “drooping” of their eyelids, but this complication will correct itself over time.

If you are interested in BOTOX®, Dr. Kleto will thoroughly review your medical history to ensure you do not have any medical conditions that would interfere with BOTOX® and prevent you from being a good candidate. If you do have a medical problem that conflicts with BOTOX®, we offer a variety of other wrinkle treatments and facial rejuvenation options, which we can discuss with you in detail.

If you have further questions about BOTOX®, please contact Dean Kleto, MD today or call (865) 524-2442 to schedule an initial consultation. We serve patients throughout Knoxville, Sevierville, and Knox County, Tennessee.
