Breast Reduction

Serving Knoxville, Sevierville, Knox County & Nearby Areas of Tennessee

Out of all of the breast surgery patients Dr. Dean Kleto sees, breast reduction recipients tend to be the happiest. This is because overly-large, cumbersome breasts are both a physical and an aesthetic problem, but the results, and the relief, are immediately noticed. Women with pendulous or heavy breasts often complain of back and neck problems. In addition, the weight of larger breasts can cause bra straps to dig deep into shoulders, leaving painful red marks. Overly-large breasts can reduce your clothing options, make you feel self-conscious, and generally impact your self-esteem as well.

Knoxville breast surgeon, Dr. Kleto is pleased to help women reduce the size and weight of awkwardly large breasts, restoring physical comfort and enhancing the appearance of your entire profile.

Breast Reduction Procedure

To perform a breast reduction, board-certified Knoxville plastic surgeon Dr. Dean Kleto will need to make incisions on you breasts. In most cases, these incisions are made around your areola, from your areola to the crease where your breast meets your chest, and along this crease in the inframammary fold. Through these incisions, excess glandular tissue and fat will be removed reducing the weight of the breasts with immediate relief to the back and neck.

Once excessive tissue has been removed, Dr. Kleto will excise excess skin before contouring your breasts and lifting your nipple into a higher position. After this has been completed, your remaining skin will be firmed around your new, smaller breasts, and the incisions will be sutured.

Surgical dressing will be applied to your chest following your surgery and will need to stay in place for two days. After this period, you will need to wear a compression bra to reduce swelling and provide proper support for your breasts. Swelling may last for up to three weeks, but most women are able to return to work in as little as one week. Dr. Kleto will advise you when it is safe to resume all of your regular activities.
