What is breast augmentation
Breast augmentation in Knoxville can correct small breasts, sagging breasts, asymmetric breasts, and other issues you may have. It most often uses breast implants to enhance the size and shape of the breasts and is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures in the country. Breast implants are filled with saline or silicone gel and placed submuscularly at Dr. Kleto’s Knoxville plastic surgery practice.
Where is the incision placed in breast augmentation?
Knoxville breast surgeon, Dr. Kleto prefers to place breast implants through an incision in the inframammary fold. This is the crease where the breast and chest meet. Dr. Kleto is able to visualize the breast pocket, where the breast implant will be placed, better with this type of incision. Breast implant placement options will be discussed with you during your initial consultation.
What types of breast implants do you use?
There are two types of breast implants: saline and silicone gel. Saline implants are filled with a salt water solution. They are filled after placement of the breast implant to the correct volume. Silicone breast implants are filled with silicone gel. These breast implants are most often used by Dr. Kleto because they give a better profile and natural feel to his breast augmentation patients.

How long will my recovery be after breast augmentation?
Breast augmentation recovery often depends on the patient. Some will heal faster than others. However, you can expect to feel uncomfortable for the first 48 hours after your breast augmentation surgery. You should avoid working for a few days and avoid lifting anything heavy or doing vigorous exercise until Dr. Kleto says it is okay. After about a week, you will feel much better, and should be feeling normal after about six weeks. It can take several months for your breast implants to settle into their final position.
These are only a few of the many questions you may have regarding breast augmentation. You will be able to ask as many questions as you want during your breast augmentation consultation.
