If your breasts have begun to droop or sag because of pregnancy, weight loss, or the simple effects of age, you may be wondering if a breast lift is right for you. Dr. Kleto can help you determine which type of breast surgery would best meet your needs during a consultation. In general, if you have loose breast skin – and if your nipples sit at the level of your breast fold or below it – you are most likely a good candidate for breast lift surgery.
When evaluating your needs, Dr. Kleto will consider four main degrees of breast sagging (technically called “ptosis”). These degrees are:
- Grade I – Your nipples are level with your breast fold.
- Grade II – Your nipples are below the level of your breast fold, but higher than the majority of your breast mound.
- Grade III – Your nipples are below the breast fold, and sit at the level of maximum breast projection.
- Grade IV – Your nipples have fallen below the breast mound and point at the floor.
In certain cases, Dr. Kleto may recommend combining your breast lift with breast implants in order to achieve the best possible results. All of your options wil be discussed in detail during your consultation.
