Breast Implant Size and Bra Cup Size

Your desired bra cup size may be an important way to discuss breast implant type and size with plastic surgeon Dr. Dean Kleto. Discussing bra cup size can help you and Dr. Kleto understand the difference you want to see from your current breast size; however, cup size alone is not the most effective way to choose size.

Breast implant sizes are measured by volume in CCs, which is an abbreviation for cubic centimeters. Bra cup sizes are less precise, because cup size varies by brand. Bra cup sizes are not standardized, so a B cup, for example, does not translate to an exact measurement in CCs.

Some of the elements Dr. Kleto will assess in order to determine a range of possible breast implant sizes include:

  • The characteristics of your breast tissue.
  • Your breast and chest wall measurements.
  • Your height, weight and body shape.
  • Your desired aesthetic outcome.
