Your desired bra cup size may be an important way to discuss breast implant type and size with plastic surgeon Dr. Dean Kleto. Discussing bra cup size can help you and Dr. Kleto understand the difference you want to see from your current breast size; however, cup size alone is not the most effective way to choose size.
Breast implant sizes are measured by volume in CCs, which is an abbreviation for cubic centimeters. Bra cup sizes are less precise, because cup size varies by brand. Bra cup sizes are not standardized, so a B cup, for example, does not translate to an exact measurement in CCs.
Some of the elements Dr. Kleto will assess in order to determine a range of possible breast implant sizes include:
- The characteristics of your breast tissue.
- Your breast and chest wall measurements.
- Your height, weight and body shape.
- Your desired aesthetic outcome.
At Dr. Kleto’s plastic surgery practice, we provide you with a 3D image showing the possible outcomes of your breast augmentation. The Axis Three imaging technology captures a 3D image of your own body and uses it to display what you will look like after the procedure.
You and Dr. Kleto will view this image on a computer screen to see how the appearance of your breasts will change with different breast implant sizes. Axis Three lets you compare six different images on the screen at once, so you will be able to make a direct comparison between six different breast implant options.
